Total newbie. Just rigged my boat. Can’t stop the backstay from snagging the main.

Suggestions appreciated.

Are sails standard Joysway or aftermarket?

A picture of backstay crane and also where iyt is snagging would be useful.

My Joysway A brushes the backstay very slightly, but has never snagged so much to be a problem when sailing, for me. I have seen others trim a small amount off the area of top batten. Even so I'd suggest checking mast rake first, before that - especially if you've just built the boat from scratch.

Sails came with the boat. Noticed the main is above the band. Will adjust and that may sort it.
