Hi

I’m looking at sealing my ‘65 as the last time it sailed it shipped water, a fair amount.  I’m suspicious about the deck eyes, as everything else looks OK, and was thinking of trying Deluxe Models Super Phatic as it has great wicking properties (I’m told). Has anyone tried this?

Check for cracks around the keel box.  Earlier versions (pre v6 as I recall) were very prone to cracking if the weight of the keel isn't separately supported.  A clear self adhesive patch is available from RC sailing 

Thanks for the reply.  I have checked previously and fitted the self adhesive patch.  I don’t think that’s the issue.  I will check again but my suspicion is the screw eyes. 
 

If you're convinced it's the eyes, then I've used "Captain Tolley's Creeping Crack Cure" to great effect on both full size and other RC boats
