I recently rescued 4 yachts which were facing the future as landfill. 3 ‘first generation IOM’s and a Marblehead. At Rudyard Lake Sailing Club these could be ‘social sailing’ boats for non-members to try to see if they enjoy radio sailing. Two of the IOM’s have 3 suits of sails so no worries with those but one IOM has radio but no sails. 
The Marblehead is pre-swing rig. It has radio gear - a very large old Futaba 6v sail winch and rudder servo so that may work with a 2.4Ghz receiver and a 4 cell Duracell battery pack to make sure the winch isn’t over volted. It has a deck stepped mast, aero section with slot for a bolt roped mainsail luff, a forestay and back stay, no shrouds or spreaders but a threaded hex section stub either side of the mast where spreaders should go. And no sails. 
 

What’s the best way forward? I don’t know anyone with any old Marblehead rigs but would you look for a set of old sails or buy a new set, given it’s not going to ever race? I’m not sure how Marblehead sails work but the total area is 800 sq inches so I guess the best thing would be to have sails as tall as the mast will take with the appropriate foot dimensions to fit the 800 sq inch rule and then it would be fine for may up to 10 knit wind speeds ??
