Im a fellow Up owner and I’d be happy to give my opinion.. Please feel free to send me a DM. Rob

I have spoken to Roger he invited me over a while ago but unfortunately couldn't make it. But hopefully at some point I will get over to sail with him. Add another new venue to my list.

Be careful of just throwing any old sail areas onto a swing rig (especially a Stollery swing rig) as their balance is critical. I’d be very conscious of the designers sail plan. Speaking as someone who has spent years getting this wrong before finally getting it nearly right.

Myself and my Up looking forward to the Marblehead Nationals at Datchet. I am helping with the event see how it should be done. To good an opportunity to learn from experienced skippers. Plus a weekend staying onsite destress from normal mainly work related issues. Hopefully the weather is kind to us all and everyone enjoys the event 😊

I did exactly that in 2022. It was great feeling the buzz and seeing the boats close up. Its going to be a fun weekend see you there😀

Really looking forward to the 50th anniversary of our weekend at Elstead Moat back in September 1974!!

Back then I was sailing a 23lb Dick Priest "Bewitched" vane M, with a large square hole cut in the deck with a sail winch of a screwed rod with a traveller and micro switches to limit the number of turns that the drum rotated!  Very hit & miss. Finished 12th out of 26.

This year I have  very kindly been lent a Grunge,  by my good friend JC.

Can I make single figures??
