A tip for cleaning mouldy sails

I bought an old yacht a couple of months ago where one of the sails was quite mouldy and I thought I might have to buy a new sail for it.

I tried cleaning it with various things (polish, window cleaner) to no avail.

However, my wife had just bought some bathroom mould removal spray, so I laid out the sail on a table, sprayed on the fluid, spread it over the sails with kitchen paper to make sure all parts were wet, waited a couple of minutes, then wiped it off again with more kitchen paper. Then I took it outside and sprayed the whole sail with water to remove any remaining fluid, and let it dry.

The results were excellent, a virtually clean sail for no additional expense :D

Please take care of the precautions for good ventilation though.
