March 29, 20251 yr Dear CMYC members, Thought we could set up a forum space to add to the Whatsapp group to give club members a place to discuss all CMYC matters, suggest club improvements, argue about racing decisions and generally have an online chinwag. I hope that this falls under the bracket of club chat (forum admin: please let me know if this is the correct place for this topic post). With lots of change over the past few years and finally seeming to have put a stop to the councils underhanded attempts to turn our clubhouse into yet another coffee shop, we can start to think about the clubs long term plans, with new members signing up across all age groups, encouraging increased participation in the club racing and new offerings to help engage with our community. We have lots to celebrate: our 80 strong fleet of vintage pond yachts for public to freely use has been well used by locals; increased reliability in our 1 and 6 meter fleets are leading to more race day competitiors; the new df65 class of boats being prepared for summer sailing sessions; changes to the clubhouse setup with more accessible/organised workshop area; improved organisation of boat repair schedule and battery charging facilities; and maintenance and improved aesthetic of the external clubhouse areas.
