January 10, 20251 yr Lots of 3d activity happening with things like the Alioth - very interesting. But anyway, as there's therefore probably many people here with such knowledge, what's a good choice of material for UV resistance? White is fine, no great strength needed, but would be outdoors 24/7, ideally for years at least. ('Painted' would be an option) Edited January 10, 20251 yr by Colin Helliwell
January 11, 20251 yr Hi Colin, I'm by no means an expert but know many experienced sailors and printers print model yachts in the US in ASA due to its heat resistance, which is a problem for them in some of the warmer states. They are very keen on this for 'extreme' direct sunlight however everyone here seems content with PLA+ so I don't know how much of a difference it makes for us in the UK looking outside! Depending on what you use it for Bambu Lab's ASA / Aero is designed for things like floating marks and birdhouses however their filaments obviously favor their own enclosure printers and splicer settings. They have a filament guide here: https://bambulab.com/en-gb/filament/collections Hope that helps and someone please correct me if I'm wrong in any way! Nick
