David Norris Posted June 2, 2023 Posted June 2, 2023 Sorry if this has been covered already but I am relatively new here. All boats, when registered, are given a hull number on which to base their sail number. Are people marking this number onto their hulls, if so how? David
Downbytheriver Posted June 2, 2023 Posted June 2, 2023 I use vinyl numbers. If you can’t find anything, let me know and I’ll sort it for you
David Norris Posted June 2, 2023 Author Posted June 2, 2023 Thanks, Stan. I will see what’s out there David
Damian101 Posted June 2, 2023 Posted June 2, 2023 Hi David Yes you have to display the hull number on the outside of the hull, and most people use vinyl letters. BUT as per the varying IRSA class rules (IOM, RM, A Class etc) the hull number must also be bonded, painted or etched to the inside of the hull. Vinyl letters on the outside are often removed during refurbishment and without the bonded in number the hull will soon looses it's identity. If there is no number on the inside then it's fair to say the hull has not been registered.
