	I have just detected winch creep on the new v2 winch that I purchased when they first came out. If I sheet in slowly the winch consistently moves to the same point ok. If I sheet in fast the winch goes to the same point then creeps off letting the boom out slightly!!! I have checked out the tx/rx etc and have narrowed it down to the winch.
</p>

<p>
	Has anyone had a similar problem?

By the start time of 10am there was a ripple on the water but it was constantly changing direction. However, Richard set a 2 lap WW/LW course and racing started. The race team pushed us hard and by lunch we had completed 10 races. Lunch on Sunday was a choice of 2 soups, assorted sandwiches, cakes and tea or coffee, again included in the £10 race fee. At lunch Richard suggested that after we reached 16 races we could stop for the day before the forecast rain arrived. I’ve read that, in light airs, it is recommended that the main boom should be sheeted in a little more inboard.
</p>

<p>
	What is the logic behind that and should there be a commensurate adjustment inboard on the jib boom?
</p>

<p>
	The whole idea seems contrary to the “if in doubt let it out” principle.

	Hi all,
</p>

<p>
	We have been building up a new class of DF65's at Clapham Model Yacht Club for club racing and to introduce new sailors to the science of sailing at our pond, Long Pond on Clapham Common. We have a few restrictions on the pond, being relatively shallow (more so in the summer months) but we now have around 15 DF65's and hope to have them all rigged and ready in time for summer. I have been a silent reader of the forum posts here but just wanted to say a huge thank-you for all your info, as its been incredibly useful in getting this all setup.
</p>

<p>
	We're not quite there yet but if you ever feel like a Sunday 'away day' sail, and you are somewhere near London, feel free to come and join us for a race some Sunday soon. The cups of tea are on us.
</p>

<p>
	Kind Regards
</p>

	I've just fitted a new suit of 36 micron sails from Soch to a brand new Joseway rig. I used Soch's instructions as far as I could and used dynema luff rings with a 3mm gap. As things stand, with the mast as far back as possible, as per Mr Tushingham's instructions, and reasonable tension on both jib and backstay and main downhaul the luff of the main is overlapping the mast significantly between the first ring, excluding the head ring, and last ring, excluding the foot ring. The overlap is up to 50% of the mast diameter, if not a bit more.
</p>

<p>
	I'm concerned that the luff can't rotate to either side of the mast after tacking.
</p>

<p>
	Can anyone suggest what I should do - if anything??

	For several years now I have raced my DF65 using the set-up as shown by Mike Jefferys on You Tube and the printed sheet by Phil Burgess.  These suggested that the mast rake slider adjustment should be set forward for A+ rig and moving aft for the other three rigs.   This set the mast virtually upright for the A+ rig, with a back-stay length of 951mm.
</p>

<p>
	Now the top sailors, such as Craig Richards and John Tushingham are setting the slider right to the aft end of the adjustment on all four rigs, and using a back stay setting of 940mm on the A+ rig.
</p>

<p>
	Why?  To what purpose?  Surely, raking the mast aft gives more weather helm, no good thing.

	Help! I have the ring to which the forestay and jib stay attach fastened to the front of the backstay crane. I notice the the ring tends to rotate so that it is at 90 degrees to the hull centreline and that then tends to make the boom sit out one side, favouring one tack over the other. What’s the answer? Soak the dynema between mast head and ring in superglue to make it rigid??
