2025 MYA Scottish District IOM Travellers 3, 8th November, hosted by Aberdeen MYC at Kinghorn Loch
With a huge thanks to Kinghorn RSC for their assistance, Aberdeen MYC hosted the final event in the 2025 MYA Scottish District IOM Championship series. This was after several previous attempts were made but had to be postponed due to various circumstances beyond anyone’s control.
Met by a somewhat misty and still day, thirteen skippers from six Scottish District clubs assembled for the event. The lack of breeze led to only three races being completed. Despite this there was an excellent sense of camaraderie on the bank and during sailing. The event winner was Stewart Campbell of Tayside RSC.
The overall 2025 MYA Scottish District IOM Championship series winner was Steve Taylor of Aberdeen MYC who was presented with the Sir Thomas Lipton Trophy. Steve was also presented with the refurbished MYA Scottish District Wooden Hull IOM Trophy as the 2025 Champion. Thanks are due to Ralph Knowles for his workmanship and to the MYA for funding the work. It is noteworthy that Steve was also the 2025 MYA Scottish District IOM Championship winner – well done Steve for a clean sweep of all the 2025 Scottish District IOM Championship trophies.
