Mark would like to make all prospective builders aware that he has optimised the mast position in relation to the keel. This is now indicated on the downloadable PDF drawings, and on the proof prints available from the MYA's Publicity Officer.

Also following on the success of the basic hull drawings, all clubs have been sent full line drawings for either a flat deck or a raised decked version, along with keel / mast box diagrams. Please contact your club sec if you have not seen these latest drawings. Alternatively contact the Publicity Officer for a set at the nominal cost to cover costs - address below.

History of the Design

The MYA has secured the design of a modern 1OM yacht hull for the use of all its members and schools on an individual basis
i.e. not for commercial production/sales.

Thanks to Mark Dicks for allowing a top design to be used by the MYA. The design follows on from the Widget and Gadget so succesfully sailed by Martin Roberts of Birkenhead.

Each club has a set of line drawing from the MYA, you can also download your own personal copy here as well. Remember lines are shown full size, you will need to reduce shadows by the thickness of plank you indent to use. The builder should ensure that the overall dimensions conform to the Class Rules.
