Graham Bantock has suggested that I alert UK owners to some IOMICA prospective candidate statements available on the IOMICA forum - go to this link  http://www.iomclass.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1395

If,  after reading the candidate statements,  any GBR owner would like to change his vote,  then he/she can do so by simply submitting another voting paper to me.

I am pleased to be able to advise that I am now getting a steady stream of votes from GBR owners. Thank you to those owners for their support.

Two email mailshots were completed yesterday,  one to club secretaries and one to individual owners.  My apologies for referring to the 2008 AGM in the subject line of the email top the owners.  Unfortunately,  this year I didn't have time to fully sort out the database routines that create the email mailshots.  I had 6 "failure to deliver" reports in respect of the club secretary email batch and about 70 out of the 350 odd emails sent to owners.

As of 11.00am this morning,  I would like to thank 9 "early bird" owners for having submitted a vote to me.

I have also made some changes to the initial paragraph below - initially I had indicated a date of 24th May for owners to update their information.  I have now modified the date for submitting owner information for this AGM.  However,  to save time for future AGMs,  it would be useful for owners to continuously update their personal and boat information with the Class Association.

26/05/2009
I would report that I submitted a list of 508 Certificated and 42 Registered owners to IOMICA on 25th May.  The number of boats with full certificates was 814 and correctly registered but without a full certificate 65.

Although I have now submitted the list of owners to IOMICA,  any GBR owner wishing to update his/her information should do so via this link   Click here to register with the NCA Secretary

  IOMICA AGM 2009

The 2009 IOMICA AGM will be held at the IOM World Championships at Barbados on 23rd June.    This year there are 7 resolutions one of which deals with elections for two IOMICA Executive Officers,  3 are concerned with changes to the Class Rules, 2 deal with changes to IOMICA's constitution and finally, one tasks the IOMICA Executive with investigating whether the Class should affiliate to ISAF as an international class.   The Notice of the AGM,  Agenda and accompanying information may be found at IOMICA - 2009 AGM

Although I did not stand for class secretary at the MYA AGM last year,  I have undertaken to deal with the GBR vote for this AGM.  This decision was made just prior to IOMICA's deadline for submitting NCA voting strengths.  This late decision has affected the ability of GBR owners to update their information -  however,  the computer database has been maintained  and required little update work to prepare a reasonably current list.

The schedule for NCA for GBR Owners in respect of preparing for and voting in the 2009 AGM is as follows:

prior to Tuesday 16th June
All GBR boat owners are requested to update their personal and boat information.  In particular,  it would be very useful for up-to-date email addresses to be provided.  The information is required to ensure that owners status is accurate in respect of their entitlement to vote on the different resolutions and to maintain the accuracy of the Class Association database.

by Tuesday 16th June
All GBR Owners voting papers must be returned to the GBR Class Secretary.   The NCA for GBR vote will be collated and passed by Richard Rowan to Mark Dennis who will be acting on behalf of the NCA for GBR at the IOMICA AGM.

NCA for GBR owners - how to vote in the 2009 IOMICA AGM

by Sunday 24th May
Up-to-date GBR Owner information is required to compile a list of owners to submit to IOMICA.
