18th December District The Scottish District welcomes a new club in Northen Ireland - the Gortin Lake MBC.  The club's sailing water is approximaletly 10 miles north of Omagh in Co Tyrone.  For contact details - see the club information panel  click here

28th November District The Scottish District welcomes 4 new clubs to the District.  These comprise a new Scottish club - Kinghorn Radio Sailing Club located in Fife and the 3 Northern Ireland clubs who were previously affilated through the Northern District - Belfast Waterworks MBC, Carrickfergus MBC and East Down Yacht Club.   These clubs have been added to our website. 15th and 16th November N Ireland A very sucessful IOM Ulster Championships & Celtic Challenge Cup was held at Lough Money near Downpatrick in N.Ireland under the auspices of the Belfast Waterworks MBC.  For the report published on the Down Recorder web site, the results and lots of photos  click here

11th July District The MYA has published a document prepared by the British Model Flying Association on LiPo (Lithium Polymer) battery safety.  The article highlights the need to be very careful about the handling, storage and transport of these batteries and provides recommendations for good practice.  The full text of the MYA announcement and the document itself may be viewed from the Downloads page

11th March Ayr Bay Following the undoubted success of the IOM Winter series at Castle Semple, Ayr Bay intend to continue sailing at Castle Semple over the summer time.  Sailing will be as near to the first Saturday in each month and will be "OPEN" events for all Clubs to participate.  No entry fees, no prizes but possibly an award for the best IOM summer skipper based on the number of events he participates in and his average score.  The first event is scheduled for Saturday, 5th April (good practice for the forthcoming ranking event!)

14th February District The MYA has announced alignment with the RYA Racing Charter.  The Scottish District Committee is strongly supportive of this initiative and would encourage all MYA members and club committees to actively apply the charter.  see Downloads page
