Aberdeen moved to a new sailing location at Knockburn Loch in 2015.

Directions - coming from the south: 
Leave the A90 at Stonehaven taking the A957 (Slug Road) signposted for Banchory. After about 11 miles turn sharp left at the Knockburn sign. This is a single lane road so please be aware of cyclists and agricultural traffic. The entrance to Knockburn Loch is after about 3.6 miles on the left.

Directions - coming from the east: 
Drive west along the A93 from Aberdeen. Turn left onto the A957 (Slug Road) signposted for Stonehaven. After about 2.8 miles, turn sharp right. This is a single lane road so please be aware of cyclists and agricultural traffic. The entrance to Knockburn Loch is after about 3.6 miles on the left.

  Ayr Bay RYC

When entering Irvine from any direction,  follow the signs for “Harbourside”.  As you approach Harbourside,  follow the signs to the “Magnum Leisure Centre”.  The sailing venue is located via a service lane at the seaward end of the Magnum Leisure Centre. The pond is off this lane to the right. Car access is available to the poolside.

Buchanness MYC
Location:   Peterhead,  Aberdeenshire Founded:   Model yachts have been built and sailed in Peterhead since the middle of last century.  At that time they were models of the local fishing boats “Fifies”.  It is known that these yachts were raced about the 1870s and that a model yacht club was formed about 1900. The present club was reformed in 1984.

Classes sailed:   IOMDragon Force 65 and Fifies (a local class)  

Club days:     Buchanness sails IOMs on Wednesday afternoons (and evenings in the summer months), RG65's on Thursday afternoons. and IOMs most Saturdays from 10am till 3:30pm  Please phone club contact for details.

Take the A950 out of Peterhead towards Mintlaw.    The sailing water is on a Water Board reservoir about 2 miles out of Peterhead.

  Greenock MY&PBC

Classes sailed:   IOM  R6M  and  A Class

Club days:   RC yacht sailing on Tuesday and Sunday afternoons all year round.  Please contact the club rep before coming.  The Club scale modelling section sails on Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoons.

Coming from Glasgow on the A8,  at the junction between the Fire Station and the Morrison's store,  turn left onto B7054, following the signs for Largs.  Go straight through the first roundabout before the Railway bridge,  continue under the bridge and up the hill past a set of traffic lights.  Follow the road round to the right and continue for about 1 mile up to the crest of the hill.

Just after the crest of the hill,  watch for Murdieston Street on the right.  As you go down Murdieston Street,  the sailing water is Murdieston Dam on the left,  the club-house is at the far end of the dam and access is via the laneway at the bottom of the dam embankment.

Directions:   From the Forth Road Bridge, follow the A921 towards Burntisland.  At the A921 / A909 junction at Burntisland,  take the B923.  Follow the B923 until you pass Kinghorn Loch on the left hand side of the road.  Once past the Loch, take the first left towards Craigencalt Farm.  The club sails from the Watersports Pier on the north side of the loch.

From the main A1 Edinburgh – Berwick-upon-Tweed trunk road, turn off and go through Wallyford.  At the northern end of the village,  turn left past the Railway Station and proceed on the A199 towards Musselburgh.  At the first roundabout,  take the 3rd exit back towards Prestonpans (B1348).  About 1/2 mile after the roundabout watch for the entrance to the Levenhall Links Leisure Park on the left just before the Industrial Museum on the right.  Follow the park road back towards Musselburgh,  keep straight on when the metalled surface finishes.  Keep along the unmetalled surface until the race course appears on your left.  A short distance later,  the track turns right - keep going for another 1/4 mile until you come to a parking area just after the end of the trees on the left.  The pond is adjacent to the parking area.

From Glasgow,  follow M8 towards the west.  Leave at junction 27 and follow Renfrew Road to the left as far as the roundabout at the Retail Park which you go fully round, so as to double back and return over the motorway towards Renfrew.  At the roundabout on the north side of the motorway, take the 2nd exit (signed M8 Glasgow) but go straight on before the right hand bend onto the motorway proper.  Follow this road (Arkleston Road) over the motorway and up the hill until a T junction is reached.  Turn right and continue until a roundabout is reached.  Take the 1st exit and cross the railway bridge, take the 2nd exit at a double mini roundabout and, watching out for a row of shops on the left, take the third left after the shops (Balgair Drive). Continue to the corner and go through the entrance into Barshaw Park with the Golf Course on the left.  Parking is straight ahead with the Club Rooms on the far side of the Pavilion on the right. The pond is adjacent.

Starting from the A90, follow the A94 into Forfar.  At the first set of traffic lights, turn left into Craig O Loch Road. Just at the first bend, turn left and continue along the side of the park.  At the T junction,  turn left into N Loch Road.  Just before N Loch Road swings round to the right,  enter a car park.  Access to the sailing venue at Forfar Sailing Club is along the lane at the far end of the car park.
