Seven members of the newly formed Aberdeen Model Yacht Club turned out on 20 October 2002 to lay marks and have an inaugural sail on the Inchgarth Reservoir.   AMYC has been granted permission by Scottish Water to undertake a trial through until the end of November.   Barring any unforeseen problems the new Club will then be set up formally for the 2003 season.  It is planned that the club will sail IOM and RC Laser boats and will integrate closely with the existing clubs in Peterhead and Brechin thereby increasing the presence of radio controlled sailing in the North East.

Located next to the River Dee, the reservoir commands excellent views across and up the Dee Valley.
